Westfield Täby Centrum is one of Sweden’s most modern and popular shopping destinations. At Smålandsinredningar we have had the honour to contribute to the centre’s development by supplying custom‑made furniture for their public areas. Our task was to create comfortable, aesthetically pleasing and durable furniture that enhances the visitor experience and fits the modern architecture.

Quality and sustainability in focus
When we at Smålandsinredningar take on a project like this, quality and sustainability are always our focus. For Westfield, we used materials that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The furniture frames are made of beautiful wood, giving a warm and inviting feel. This was combined with terrazzo, sheet metal, and metal to create modern and hard-wearing details.
We know that furniture in public spaces must withstand daily use by thousands of visitors, so our choice of materials and construction was crucial to delivering products that are durable without compromising on aesthetics. We designed each part with precision to ensure both a long lifespan and easy maintenance.
Lounge areas that enhance the experience
The lounge areas in Westfield Täby Centrum are strategically placed to offer a break from the shopping experience. We wanted to create spaces where visitors could relax, recharge, and enjoy the surroundings. The furniture's design combines clean lines and thoughtful shapes to contribute to a sense of calm and exclusivity.
An important part of our work was to create a cohesive feel that blends with the rest of Täby Centrum’s interior. By working closely with the architects, we ensured that all furniture harmonised with the existing environment and contributed to the centre’s unique character. The result is popular spots that encourage both solo visitors and small groups to take a break.
An ongoing collaboration
This is not the first time we have had the opportunity to work with Westfield Täby Centrum, and we look forward to continued collaboration in the future. Being able to contribute to creating comfort and functional spaces for their visitors is something we are proud of.
